Welcome to my blog, Diary of a Liveaboard! This is the chronicle of my life aboard a 1983 Islander 30 sailboat and all the challenges and trials that come along with that life. This isn't your motor yacht with satellite TV, folks. This is about making it work with duck tape and the best you can borrow. So come on in and read awhile. And don't forget -- we bloggers always appreciate those comments.
My name is Aleksandra (you can call me Allie!) and I live with my husband, Greg, and our dog Lyra in the D.C. suburbs of Northern Virginia.
I work as a copy editor by day, but most of my evenings belong to my sewing machine and this blog is a way for me to chronicle and share my sewing experiences.
Some of you may remember me from my days living aboard my sailboat and blogging at Diary of a Liveaboard. Liveaboard Takes the Suburbs started as a way to chronicle my transition to suburban living, but quickly evolved into a sewing blog.
Thanks for stopping by!
